C is for Cherries
Cherries are delicious, rich, indulgent and truly are the “cherry on top” in terms of nutrition.
🍒 A cup of cherries is likely to provide you with around 16% of your daily Vitamin C needs and almost 10% of your Potassium requirements – Potassium is known to lower blood pressure).
🍒 Cherries contain melatonin. The chemical that helps us fall asleep, having a bowl of cherries an hour before bedtime could help you drift off into a restful sleep.
🍒 Cherries have anti-inflammatory properties and are thought to provide relief to sufferers of arthritis.
🍒 Cherries contain a chemical called anthocyanins, they help reduce muscle soreness.
There are thoughts that cherries can help with fat loss, but as always not enough research has been done to be stating that as a fact, but everything in moderation… 😉
So whether you add them to a bowl or greek yogurt, stew them up to eat in a pie or consume as a juice, buy cherries fresh, frozen, freeze-dried or juiced and enjoy! 🍒 🍒
